Dog Ear Productions LogoDOG EAR PRODUCTIONS

a film and television production company

Dog Ear Productions produces film and TV that isn't afraid to get a little strange, a little messy, or live in the beautifully uncomfortable in-between. We like stories that rattle something loose — the kind that leave you laughing, squirming, or lying awake at 2 a.m. wondering what it all means. We’re drawn to sharp voices and bold takes: maybe it’s a loveable antihero, a cracked sense of humor, or a totally unexpected spin on something familiar. If it takes a risk and knows exactly what it’s trying to say — we’re in. Our vibe? Dark, funny, and character-first. We gravitate toward projects that blur tones, break rules, or make their own genre up as they go. We especially love working with writers and directors who have a clear vision and the guts to follow it through. Between Madelaine and Katherine, we've covered everything from long-running series to scrappy shorts, indie features to music videos. Dog Ear projects are built for Madelaine to lead, and we’re all-in from development through release. If you’re telling a story that’s loud, strange, smart, or just too specific to ignore — we want to hear it.

We want every creator we work with to feel supported and know that their vision is in great hands. Our producing style is to be hands-on from the creative development stage all the way through release strategy.

Madelaine Petsch – Founder/ProducerMadelaine Petsch is a producer, actor, and entrepreneur creating bold, genre-forward stories with global appeal. Best known for her breakout role on the CW’s Riverdale, she found her passion for producing during the show’s seven-season run—spending countless hours on set, where she developed a sharp instinct for storytelling, script development, and editorial pacing.

She is the star and producer of Lionsgate’s upcoming reboot trilogy The Strangers and executive producer and star of Maintenance Required (Amazon MGM), a romantic comedy set to release October 8, 2025. Both projects reflect her evolving voice as a creative force—one that brings emotional depth, tonal precision, and commercial sensibility to elevated, audience-driven work.

Petsch made her producing debut with the indie psychological thriller Jane, which showcased her commitment to complex, character-led storytelling. Now, through her production company, she’s building a slate of films that feel unapologetically bold, tonally specific, and emotionally disarming—stories that make you feel unsettled, curious, and leave a lasting imprint. Drawn to the risk-taking spirit of foreign cinema, Petsch is intent on bringing that edge and unpredictability to American film, all while maintaining a strong commercial throughline.

Her producing vision was born from a disconnect: the roles and scripts she was being sent often lacked the daring and specificity she craved on screen. Rather than wait, she sought them out herself—stories that are loud in point of view, unapologetic in perspective, and reflective of the kinds of narratives she believes audiences are hungry for.

Her company is a home for daring voices, emotionally resonant genre, and stories that push boundaries—always aiming to entertain, provoke, and endure.

Katherine recently consulted for Sony TriStar Television and now champions writers & filmmakers to create content she loves. She is a member of the PGA and the Television Academy.
